PT4 and DB problems, please help!

Postby robinbergstrom » Sun Jun 23, 2013 9:49 am

Hi Guys,
Just bought PT4 and I’m experiencing problems when importing hands to my database.

I start PT4 with a clean DB, the DB is 8605 kb at this stage.

I select import hands from folder; I go to my folder where there are 1 file with 3 hands in it. The import starts, but it never stops. My DB is getting bigger and bigger and my comp is running slower and slower. After a while the DB is like 4000 MB and nothing is working so I have to force shutdown PT4 and postgreSQL.
Same result if I try to import hands while playing, hands doesn’t get imported and when I choose to stop import hands, above behavior shows where I can’t really do anything and the DB keeps growing until I have to force shut everything down.

I run
PT 4.083.3
PostgreSQL 9.2
Win 7 (64bit)
16 GB RAM, 3 GHz
And I play on pokerstars

I have not run PT before
Any ideas?

/Robin

Please attach that file to a Support Ticket and describe the problem (or include a link to this thread) so that we can find out what is wrong; and then move the file to a different folder so that it isn't read when you start importing.

Your version of PostgreSQL is not supported at the moment by PT4 I believe. So you could try to uninstall PostgreSQL 9.2 and install 9.0.13 instead.

Sorry - I missed your PostgreSQL version - BillGatesIII is correct; you will need to revert to PostgreSQL 9.0 as 9.2 is known to cause problems.
