postgres 8.4 for improved performance?

hi, i just imported my pt3 database into pt4 and it is running extremely slow. is this due to the fact im running postgres 8.3? should i upgrade to postgres 8.4?

Going from 8.3 to 8.4 won't make that much of a difference by itself - are you running a 64 bit operating system?
