I think my hud is somehow confusing somethings

Postby JediMethod » Mon Sep 10, 2012 4:13 pm

This is some kind of weird glitch or something. I've been experiencing it for at least a few weeks but haven't done anything about it, but today it just tilted me too much.

At first I thought the problem might be due to me updating pt4 in a bit. Sometimes I don't bother installing new updates if I don't see any fixes or new features that are pertinent to my play. I upgraded to the latest stable release however just to make sure, and the problem still exists.

Okay, so here is the problem. Hud stats are appearing at the wrong seats only for some full ring tables. I've checked it out on 6max and there is no problem. I tried to reproduce the problem at 2NL full ring and it didn't happen. This was after updating so I thought that maybe updating pt4 fixed whatever was wrong. So then I start firing up a bunch of NL10 fullring tables, my regular limit and where I've been experiencing this problem. So it is still happening....

I suspect that the Hud is somehow confusing these tables with a 6max table however. The reason is, the tables that are messed up never have stats for more than 5 players - I don't use session stats for hero. Also, the table group for the table stats are positioned in the same spot as on the 6max tables. It took me awhile to make that connection however, because I used to have the table stats in the same spot for both 6max and fullring but changed it awhile back just for fullring because I stopped using detached chat so the bottom left of the table was no longer available.

In my database, the hands are not confused for being played at 6max when they are fullring so I think this is something that is only effecting the hud.

Sometimes also, players that were at the table but left will have their stats remaining on screen and no amount of resetting the hud on that one table can make them go away.

Just trying to do some trouble shooting on my own here as I type out this post. Wanted to open some 6max tables and move the table stats to a different location, save, then try to reproduce the problem at fullring just to confirm that it is indeed mixing up the two layouts between 6max and full ring but it wouldn't import at all. I earlier closed all tables except for one of the problem ones and had it open while playing at it and trying to trouble shoot and for 20 minutes or so it imported nothing. PT4 is also telling me I made $23.50 today when I only made like $3 something. I tried stopping the import and PT4 locks up...

Ok so I have to force close PT4 and am going to start up again and try moving the hud profile around a bit on 6max tables then see if the problem full ring tables reflect that change.

Okay, as I restarted pt4 i notice that i have a message saying that postgresql 9.1 is not supported by pokertracker and that this can cause stability and performance issues. Too my knowledge tho, I have never manually updated postgresql. It was installed through the pokertracker wizard. ????? Not sure how I could end up with an incompatible version of postgres unless its something that pokertracker did because I never ever mess with that stuff.

Okay, so this is really annoying that a) when im observing a table the stats box doesn't show player name and b) table stats are not appearing on the table at all... Is this the way it is supposed to be?

Okay so i opened up some 6max tables moved the table stats, closed those tables open up some full ring NL10 tables and import is broken....

When I tell it to stop getting hands, the button just greys out and it sits there forever. Have to force close again...

Yay reopend pt4 and it immediately freezes when I try to start import....

OK so I finally get pt4 to start importing again, and start opening a bunch of nl10 tables and sitting at them. Looks like everything is okay and then I notice a table that has the table stats positioned right in the middle of the table which is where I moved it to on 6max tables. So... PT4 is definitely treating some tables as 6max. There doesn't seem to be a way of telling why or how it does this, but when it happens on a table, pt4 stops importing hands for that table for some reason, so when players leave and new ones come their stats are never displayed and only the original players at the table up to 5 players have stats displayed and they are of course in the wrong positions.

I have absolutely no idea what is happening here but its super tilting. A lot of the time this happens on a very juicy table and I have to decide if I want to stay and get constantly confused by the mispositioned stats and not have any reads on half the players at the table or leave. I've had this happen to around 6 tables simultaneously while 24 tabling, then I close those tables often regrettably because I work hard to seat select and start more tables only to have some of them doing the same thing.

I'm at the point where I need to grind but can't because of this. I hope somebody can help me out asap because I would really like to get back to making some money.

What site are you playing at? And can you please confirm you're using 4.05?

Sorry, I'm playing at Stars and am using pt4 version 4.04.1, which I thought was the latest stable release.

Please try our latest beta - 4.05 - and let me know if that works better for you at all. You can find 4.05 here.

Okay, I upgraded to 4.05 last night. After it installed pt4 said it had to upgrade my databases so that took a long time which is why i didn't get back on last night.

Tried grinding today as soon as I could and the problem is still there.

I found this page on your site using google which looks like it might be relevant to the problem I'm having but the link goes to nothing. Can't find those features in PT4 :(

Adjust Stakes

Certain poker sites don't indicate whether a table is a heads up table, 6max, or full ring. This can create issues when you are playing a full ring table with 5 players on it, a 6max table with 2 players on it, etc. To help with this issue, PokerTracker 4 suggests enabling "Automatically Apply 'Treat As'" so that it can estimate the table type based upon the number of tables at the table. For further information, consult the Adjusting Stakes Tutorial

Link to quoted page here: https://www.pokertracker.com/guides/PT4 ... -importing

You have to scroll down about half way down the page to get to the part I quoted.

I just found that option located in the site import options under preferences. It was already checked. Going to try unchecking it and see if I still have this problem though I'm a bit doubtful since if this is the default setting, then you'd probably have a bunch of people with this same problem right?

You can adjust stakes manually via Database -> Adjust Stakes. When you play is there a "Treat As" option in the PT Icon? If you use it does it fix things? If so that's when you want the "Automatically Apply Treat As" option.

No that option isn't in the PT icon on the hud if that is what you meant.

Anyhow, it seems to be working fine now that i unchecked that box. I think I shouldn't be having this problem with it checked though as I think most people have it checked right?

I play a lot of HU and shorthanded on fullring tables so maybe that is how PT is getting things mixed up? I did notice in my first session today that the tables where it occurred on were tables that I either started or joined with > 6 players seated.

PokerStars write the table size to their hand histories so the 'Automatically Apply Treat As' and 'Treat As' options don't apply to PokerStars.
