Tourney Discrepancy ?

Today I noticed this:

The filter at 'D' applies to the first two images and when applied the number of tournaments at A, B and C should be the same. At this point A agrees with B but C is doing it's own thing. If I double click on the line at B above, I get this:

Confirmation that there was only 3 tournies despite what the graph panel (upper right) is trying to tell me. Now B agrees with C but A refuses to join the party. But wait, there's more. If I go to the reports side and run the "Tourney Summary (Player)" I get this:

Supposedly confirming that there were 8, not 3, tournies that matched the original filter. Perhaps in the first screenshot A really was telling the truth and not bombed on illegal fungi (as I suspect).

Btw, the refresh button was liberally bashed before taking each screen shot.

Hint. I have a habit of cleaning out tournies (purging hands etc) that I used to test PT4; anything under $2. I also have a habit of importing Pokerstars tourney summaries more often than I should (I really need to feel more comfortable with PT4's Tourney Detect system) and there's a possibility I have imported a couple (5?) of summaries for which I had purged the hands. Would this cause the above error?

Yes, I expect that that is what is causing this discrepancy. Currently tournaments with summaries but no hands are shown in a few places but not others. The development team are aware of this issue - I was speaking to them about it recently. As always, if you want a notification when the fix is released please open a Support Ticket.

I had read many times about PT4's quest for accuracy over all else. I hope that quest continues.

A little off-topic, but indeed PT4's Auto-Detect is way more accurate than the tourney types you get after importing Tourney Summaries. Nonetheless, there's still a very good reason to always do the summary imports: you get all players's results rather than just your own and you also get the exact number of players. The latter could help Auto Detect then (e.g. for 180m SNGs), and in any case having everyone's exact result is a nice bonus for accuracy of the database.

Other than that I agree with your remarks and had a similar ticket filed for the issue that WhiteRider explained.

Totally agree with you Parket.

Much of my problems with auto-detect, and PT4 in general, is that I like to break software; been doing that since Jesus and I were in grade school. There's plenty of folks testing the cash side of the house so I target the tourney side. That means I am forever playing/deleting/purging/re-importing tournies/hands and occasionally I get out of step with where I am in the cycle and re-import something I have already dispensed with.

The auto-detect feature is great and works very well most of the time, but I still feel it needs a 'ruh roh' setting that can be applied to tournies that auto-detect cannot recognize so that they stand out. ATM all you can do is assign a legitimate tourney name to a 'failed' tourney and hope it doesn't get lost in the mix.

Nonetheless, PT4 is streets ahead of the competition in tourney recognition.

For the record, tourney auto detection will be much, much faster in our next beta, due to a bug that was found over the last few days.
