same problem here, but it`s importing at the incredible speed of 1h/s lol

but my pc is core 2 duo, 4gb ram

It is more about the speed of the drive - 5400rpm drives won't give good performance, for instance.
What type of hands are you importing?
How many hands do you already have in the database?

My HD is 7200 rpm, I'm importing Holdem NL FullRing hands and my Database has 400k hands.

I have psql 8.3, any improvements using 9.1?

We haven't fully tested 9.1 and do not officially support it at this point. We have had good experiences with 9.0, and the biggest improvements would be for 64 bit machines.

That said, from what I've heard things should be getting better in our next beta.
