Some doubts

Postby Skull_AK » Fri Mar 02, 2012 10:02 am

hi all
i have been using PT4 during 1 month and i have a few questions about it
- when i click on HUD to appear the pop-ups i notice that some stats take a long time to appear. for example in general pop-up the stat 3bet vs position takes a long time to appear. also happens the same in preflop tab in steals...stats 3bet vs bu open and 3 bet vs co open takes so long time that is very frustating to dont know the stats when u are in that positions and try to steal and dont have time to know the stat.

-i realized than my VPIP/PFR ratio sometimes is not correct...when i play a hand i always raise as first action, and if the hand came with a raiser, i push or i fold, never pay, so my VPIP must be as same as my PFR and i have noticed sometimes my VPIP is smaller than my PFR.. dont know why.

-since i use PT4 sometimes, a lot of memory operations keep my pc so busy to the point that I have all stopped and even disconnect me from poker tables. this not happens every day but sometimes only.

sorry for my english and thanks in advance.

Currently the popups are queried on demand - this means until you click we aren't getting the data for them. This is done to reduce strain on your machine as the more data we are querying the harder everything has to work.

The delay for the stats is the obvious downside to this approach - so it is something we have planned to look into optimizing further to make the delay less apparent.

VPIP can be smaller than PFR in PT4 because we now only count real PFR opportunities. If you face an open shove you have an opportunity to VPIP (because you can call) but you do not have an opportunity to PFR (as you can't raise). If you VPIP only when you PFR VPIP will always be less than PFR as a result - imagine you raise 10 times in 100 opportunities for a PFR of 10%. Thus you also VPIP 10 times - but if you have 105 opportunities now VPIP = 10 / 105 = 9.5%.

We are currently working on performance issues and hope things will be better for you in the next beta version.

thanks for answering
its true that until i dont click on hud there are no stats on popup but the time the stats i mentioned takes a considerable more time than the rest.
i forgot ask about the different between call a 2bet and cold call 2bet, i suppose the first is villain limps i raise and villain call, and the second is i raise and the villain calls my pfr (i suppose this is the same as a call an open) tell me if im wrong.
and another question is as we have an stat 3bet vs an positional 2bet we can know the percentages of 3bet a villain has since one position to other. i mean if i can know the 3bet that villain has from MP to a EP 2bet.
(i suppose when u say 2bet is either an open raise or a raise with limpers)
thanks in advance

Yes and that's why we're going to look for ways to do this behind the scenes that won't tax processor usage as much as the old method of querying instantly as soon as the table is opened.

Regarding calling a 2bet vs cold calling - you can only cold call if you have no money in the pot. A general call vs a 2bet includes all cold calls against 2bets as well. So your examples are correct but your cold call is also a regular call 2bet.

And to your last question yes we can. Just take your 3bet stat (say 3bet vs EP 2bet) and add it to the HUD and set it to the specific position you want (say MP) then it's the time the player 3bet vs an EP 2bet when in MP.
