Results off?

Postby mamba » Sun Feb 05, 2012 5:50 am

So I exported my hands (this month) from HEM2.
I imported them into HEM1 and the results show the same as HEM2.
Now I imported the same file to PT4, the number of hands is correct, but the results for my USD tables are way off.
Why is this?

EDIT: I just compared the top 20 winning and losing hands in HM and PT4 and they match exactly.
Seems that PT4 just gets the sum wrong. Looking at my Pokerstars account I can confirm that the HEM results are correct.

Since you played games in different currencies a pure numeric sum of the results doesn't really mean anything, so the total is shown converted to your "My Currency", which is configured via the menu Database > Currency.
If you split the results in HM into € and $ results, do the totals match the € and $ totals in PT4? It sounds like they will.

hm, I am not sure I understand what you are saying. My currency in PT4 is set to USD, so this should have no influence on the USD results.
I mean just look at the image, I have played 4024 hands of 0.5/1 USD.
PT4 says I dropped 1.756 USD (same for my C as USD is my C).
HM says I dropped 781 USD, which is the correct amount I lost.

Sorry, I missed the HM section of your screenshot.

Could you export those hands from HM, compress then and attach them to a Support Ticket so that we can find out where the difference comes from? Thanks.

How will I get to know, when this issue is solved?
I paid for HM2 and I am frustrated with it. So I would love to work on my conversion to PT4.
But this bug seems too serious for me to continue before it's removed...

We'll either let you know via the ticket or send you an email when a new version is available that fixes this error.

I have a similar error, just started playing poker again and trying out PT4 while I use HEM1 to play.
At first I did database conversion and noticed a lower result, same hand numbers though, then I created new db and selected the folders to import from and the results difference is still there but like OP I know HEM is showing the correct the values. I haven't imported my hands from when I last played yet so I can only comment on what I've done the last couple of weeks and the currency is all US no euro.

Sample size is only 20k hands, would you like it sent in?
I can also import/convert my old db and see if there are any errors there, and send that as well if there is, around 400-500k hands.

I'm using the latest beta, downloaded it last night, and version 8.4 of postgreSQL.

This is because of the currency conversion bug I recently reported. The results need manually adjustment via Database->currency -> set auto rates right now

ahh sorry I didn't see your post, I did go and check the currency the section but I never hit the set rates button, I just made sure USD was selected and hit save. Thanks for that :)
doing it now and reading your thread.

edit: what exactly did you do select the sessions and the hit set rates? when it rebuilds the cache PT hangs for me, and also all the tables I've played at are in USD, I haven't played on any Euro tables.
I've restarted PT4 and gone in to DB management and rebuilt the cache from there but still the results are still off.
