4.01.6 Beta Updating DB

When it says updating DB, is it just re-importing all my hands again? (I remember kraada said that we'd have to import our hands again because of an error.)
I wish there was something that told me the time remaining..
When I have imported hands, it's taken me 8+ hours.. one time was like 16 hours..
Really unfortunate that we can't see the time remaining.. just a progress bar that has a green light passing through every second..

Should this take longer than importing hands?

Also, does this mean NoteTracker will go through all my hands again to give notes?

No, it is only changing the database schema and rebuilding the cache. The longest operation will be the cache update, if you want to get an idea of the progress of that you can check the output in the PokerTracker.log

My only DB is also ~14gb..

I can't find the file.. Is it because I don't have logging enabled?

We tried very hard to make sure all stats we might want to add to the default set were in this beta version so that the cache update would not be forced again. Unfortunately there is little that can be done to speed it up.

One bright spot though is that due to the way the database is structured the amount of time to finish each percentage point should decrease as you get further in (this is because the percentages are of players in the database and players who are early on are statistically more likely to have more hands in the database).

@kradaa: yes thats possible, it started with ~10minutes per percent and its now at ~5 min/percent (reached 40 percent now)

You should almost be done now Furo, no? At 5 min/% it's been 4 hours which is 48% and you said it was at 40% before . . .
