HUD CPU Load

Postby PJs Ronin » Sat Dec 24, 2011 8:10 pm

Playing one cash table (pokerstars) and at the same time open HUD editor. On my system, CPU load is about 5-15% and mem usage about 300Mb... situation normal.

Make one (small) change to the HUD profile and click OK or Apply and CPU load goes to 100% and mem usage starts increasing towards 500Mb. CPU remains topped out for up to 4 minutes, which is bad considering on my system PT4 loads from scratch within 20 seconds.

Indeed, something buggy must be going on when you have hud open at a table and try editing a profile. If instead you close hud, edit and save profile, then reopen hud its all done in like 20 seconds.. There must be something horrible happening behind the scenes here.

Another thing that is bothering me, why is there no "reset all tables" button? When i make a change or change position of a stat at one table, its annoying clicking reset on 10 other tables.. and lets not forget all the lag that happens again.

Considering how fast hud starts from 0 if you open PT and a table, there is just no reason reseting is taking so long when you do simple things like moving a panel around.

Would be nice if someone could give me some feedback on this:

I talked to someone who knows more than me and he said that it could be anything. I've been looking at cpu use with PT4 and HM1 and they both use about the same amount of ram and cpu. It's almost like PT4 is making merge run slower.

Save Layout does exactly this. You don't need to reset each individual table.

Good to know, I guess this is changed from PT3, right? It happens with a bit of lag (20 seconds) so it's not really obvious. Maybe it could say Save & Reset or Refresh All tables, something along those lines.

That's right - this is a change from PT3, as requested by many users.
I'm seeing delays applying changes from the profile editor when the HUD is active too, and will discuss this further with the devs.
