PostgreSQL 8.4 or 9.1?

Postby jiazu » Fri Dec 16, 2011 11:09 pm

Windows 7 with a fast SSD, 8GB RAM, i7 Quad Core, etc

Does it make a difference in speed? Is PT4 compatible with both?

PokerTracker is not compatible with Postgres 9.1, it is not recommended at this time. There are too many changes that occurred in 9.1, hopefully someday we can address this with the Postgres team but for now we must avoid that version. If you wish to manually install Postgres 9.0.6 then it is a good choice if you have lots of ram and a Windows 64 bit machine.

I installed PostgreSQL v9.1.2 64 bit version before installing PT4, and so far have not had any problems. I'll have to downgrade to 9.0.6 if I see any problems then.

We cannot support 9.1, you may not see problems but they will most likely occur and we will not be able to help you when this happens. You can leave 9.1 on your system if you wish to,but you should be using either 8.4.x or 9.0.x to assure compliance with the Beta Preview. Thank you, sorry for the inconvenience!

No problem, I am now using the 9.0.6 to provide better feedback.

No, there is no problem with using the latest in the 8.3 line. If you are using an older version of 8.3 we do recommend you update to the latest 8.3 as there are some fixes along the way that do affect us.
