Introduction

This guide is intended to help you set up PokerTracker 4 and to provide beta feedback.

Please bear in mind that this software is still under development - it will contain bugs, and some new functionality will be added during the beta process as we prepare for commercial release.

In the event a database schema change is required, you may need to recreate your database(s) and re-import your hand histories. We do not intend for this to occur, but in the event a reimport is required please keep your original hand history files safe!

Thank you for testing PT4, and more importantly for your feedback. As a reminder, we would like to hear about any problems you come across, we cannot find solutions to issues that we are not made aware of. If there is anything you need help with please ask, we are here to help!

Getting Started

Once you have downloaded and installed PokerTracker 4, you must enter you registration code to proceed. In the event you have misplaced the registration code, it can be found at http://www.pokertracker.com/user/mycodes.php

PokerTracker 4 will use your existing PostgreSQL installation, but if you’re using PokerTracker for the first time it will install it for you. In the event you do not know your existing Postgre SQL username and password, please try one of these two common defaults:

  • dbpass
  • postgrespass

When PT4 first runs the Setup Assistant will appear, this is an automated tool which will guide you through the process of

  • Creating a new database
  • Define your preferred Currency
  • Set up your existing poker clients for automated import
  • Convert your existing PokerTracker 3 database (including custom stats and HUDs)
  • Convert your existing HEM database

If you need to access this assistant in the future, it can be found in the menu at Tools > Setup Assistant.

The PokerTracker 4 HUD will display on your poker tables automatically as hands are imported. To start importing hands click the “Play Poker” button in the button-bar at the top of the screen followed by the “Get Hands While Playing button. Alternatively you can click the import icon on the button right hand of any page inside of PokerTracker 4.

To import existing hand history files click Get Hands From Disk and select Files or Directory.

Tip! In the event you need to further configure the poker sites you play at or define your import preferences, Select Site & Import Options from the Configure menu

You can see which sites are supported for automated import in the Poker Sites & Networks section of the panel on the left. Additionally PokerTracker 4 will import hands from poker networks which are no longer supported for live games or are antiquated such as:

  • Absolute
  • Betfair (pre-OnGame)
  • Bodog
  • Cereus
  • Cryptologic
  • Full Tilt
  • Tribeca
  • Ultimate Bet
