I don't know my timezone

Postby Infinito46 » Mon Feb 24, 2025 10:27 pm

So I follow this guide and change the place and all, restart computer. it doesn't work. I've checked a couple topics which reffear me to the same change timezone stamp file which I add a link to next. I'm using PostgresSQL 12 btw.

https://www.pokertracker.com/guides/PT4 ... tgresql-93

I've tried all timezones I've had in the last many years. Madrid, Tallin, Sofia, even Helsinki. Nothing happens. Same mistake again. Timezone is wrong when restarting PT4.

What can i do?

What specific change(s) did you make in the postgresql.conf file? If you just changed the first entry you saw which is labelled log_timezone then that's not going to work. As per the guide "you need to change the "timezone = ..." line, which is not necessarily the first instance of timezone in the file so you may need to search more than once."

You need to use a timezone that matches the timezone currently used by your computer.

After changing the timezone in PostgreSQL you need to restart your computer or the PostgreSQL service before starting PokerTracker 4 again.

I change both "timezone" places. Log_timezone and also "timezone" with Europe/Sofia, then Europe/Tallinn and so on with 4 different cities i've been in the past.

Every time I update with a new city I change both in the same way.
Then i restart the computer.
then it doesn't work.
then i repeat for 3 hours like this.

There are not # signs or anything.

My timezone in windows is the next

UTC+02:00 Helsinki,Kiev,Riga,Sofia,Tallin,Vilna

Should I write the whole thing in there?

Like "Europe/Helsinki,Kiev,Riga,Sofia,Tallin,Vilna" or try with every single city after the Europe/xxxxx?

Thank you for your attention. I hope we can fix this.

What is the exact name and location of the file you are editing? Please provide the full name and directory.

Also click your Windows Start button then type the following command:

services.msc

and click on it when it appears. Scroll down to where your PostgreSQL service(s) is listed. Take a screenshot of all PostgreSQL lines and attach that to a reply.

Hi. problem fixed.

Apparently I had 2 files in the file. One was "postgresql.conf" and the other was "postgresql".

I was editing the first one but apparently I had to edit the second one. Which when i check was ".conf" format but not in the name.

Anyway. I beleive this happened cuz I installed potgres 12 and 16 in the same computer and some files were left after uninstalling 16. Maybe.

Well. it's fixed. Thank you for your attention.
