PT4 Crashing

Postby JamBasket » Thu Oct 03, 2024 11:00 am

Hello - since I upgraded PostGRE16, PT4 4.18.3 and restored my database I've experienced a lot of issues with PT4. It crashes when Get Hands While Playing (it doesn't load the hands, and if I click Stop Getting Hands, all of the buttons are greyed out for way too long), and when importing hands in general, it's extremely slow - like 2 hands per second.

Is there anything I can provide to help diagnose this issue?

So we can see what's going on here and follow up with you please turn on 'Enable Logging' in PokerTracker 4 via 'Configure -> Options' and then restart PokerTracker 4. Next reproduce this issue of the slow importing and then attach your support bundle to a Support Ticket. The support bundle is created via the 'File -> Create Support Bundle' menu option in PokerTracker 4. If PokerTracker 4 has frozen or crashed and you cannot create a support bundle you will need to manually grab your log file and attach that to the ticket instead:

C:\Users\{Windows Login}\AppData\Local\PokerTracker 4\Logs\PokerTracker4.log

To access the log file open File Explorer in Windows and enter the following in the address bar:

%localappdata%\PokerTracker 4\Logs

The file we need will be the text file called 'PokerTracker4' or 'PokerTracker4.log' that is in that folder. One thing to note is that every time you close/restart PokerTracker 4 it will begin a new log so you'll want to save/send that PokerTracker4.log file before restarting PokerTracker 4 again.
