When PokerTracker 4 imports from a hand history file it is creating information from it that's stored in PostgreSQL so you cannot equate the file size of a hand history files to the space those hands are going to take up in PostgreSQL. If you have 1.2GB of hand history files then that is a very large quantity of hands and the database size required to store information from those hands will be much larger than that.

That indicates the hand history files you are importing from contain multiple copies of the same hands. After a hand is imported it cannot be imported again and when PokerTracker 4 detects that it will report the hand as a duplicate and skip the import of those hands. I don't know why you would have so many and it would depend on the types of hands you are importing from. If you are importing from exported files then it's possible that hands have been exported more than once. If you are importing from original hand history files in the 'Processed' folder then it's also possible that at some point your import settings were not configured correctly which can result in multiple copies of hand history files being saved there.
