We could make it so that they have a minimum size based on the minimum font size. Would that be useful?

IMO it would...noticed the way too small mucked hands too

I think it would, mine is too small as well (I use tables almost at the minimum size the platforms allow).

It's definitely not perfect, but I do like not having to mess with this 1000 times each session.

Unlock the HUD from the PT Icon, relocate the items on the table, then select "Lock & Save" from the PT icon. This allows you to reposition all HUD groups at the table, and then save the positioning so next time you are at the same table type your positioning will be accurate.

The current plan is to allow you to turn off the vectoring entirely. This will mean whatever font sizes you specify in the Hud Profile Editor will determine the size of the groups themselves. We will continue to scale the positions so that the groups stay in relatively the same place regardless of the window size. In effect this will be a clone of how PT3 currently works.

What about turning off vectoring where the vectorized font size is smaller than the predefined font size?

So let's say you define verdana 8 as your font. When you play 2 tables on an HD screen, vectoring would be used since the resolution is high enough where the verdana 8 fonts need upscaling to match the table size. When you play 24 tables, the vector calculated font size could be smaller than the originally defined size of 8 for the font verdana, so whenever it starts to scale smaller, vectoring is turned off allowing for pixel perfect readability.

it would be great!!!

is there any way to set minimum font size globally? because for now i've found only selecting all group items.

thanks

Hi,

Just to state that, as I posted in this thread the last update (4.1.06) didn't solve the issue reported in the first page of this thread. I.e., disabling vecting does not change a thing about the blurry fonts.

Cheers,

When you disable the "allow vector scaling" it should mean that the HUD is not resized when you resize tables. Aren't you seeing that?
Note that you need to stop/start the import after changing the HUD Options for them to take effect.

Hi WhiteRider, thanks for the quick response.

I don't know how to eplain but there are at least few different things going on:

1. The fuzzy fonts: the numbers were blurry before version .06, when scaled down. So if I used (which I believe I was using) font 11 or 9 or whatever, once I put my table to proper (minimum) size the numbers would blur. This is as far as I could see not solved by disabling vectoring. What I mean is: without vectoring, I had to manually set small fonts so I had the same HUD size in the small sized tables; I went for fonts 5 and 6, if not mistaken. Now: font 5 without vectoring looks quite the same as font 9 with vectoring - both a bit blurred.

I must confess I'm even getting used to it (we humans are impressive) but if I load PT3 I notice a huge difference in HUD "font crispness".

2. I don't think vectoring is working at all. I've tried to turn it on and off more than once but never got it back. I don't know if it was working the first time as the very first thing I did after the update was to rush in and turn it off... so it was off when I first loaded a table, and it's been off ever since no matter what options I choose.

2.5. without the vectoring I can't choose a size for the mucked cards, right? Before they were so small I couldn't read, now they are huge and take lots of space while the next hand is being played (yes, translucency helps). I know finding "the perfect solution" is hard but I'm just commenting and asking if there is one.

3. Things are a bit harder to test as the HUD is not working properly with 888's 6max tables (I will try to test everything better though). Now on 888 PT4 is loading the "default" HUD even if I click on "treat as 6max". It doesn't load my 6max HUD anymore. Plus, with the update it somehow lost my position configuration (not a huge problem) AND now it often misplaces someone's HUD. So it goes: load table, change profile, wait for HUD to load on wrong positions, reposition it.

4. Quite often while import is running on 888, clicking on either "stop import" or "Hud options" freezes PT4. The first couple of times I went to task manager and shut it there. Then I realized it could be just lagging loads so I let it be since I had to step away from computer anyway. After hours it was still frozen, so yeah, taskmanager and shut it there.

I've been trying to post a ticket with my log but it won't go. It keeps "attaching" forever - maybe the file is too big by now? Anyway, if you do want the log maybe you guys can pm me here in the forums and I'll send a dropbox link or something.

Cheers,

Complementing: if I close PT4 with the option ticked and reload it, then vectoring works.
