PT3 to PT4 upgarde ?

Hi, is it ok to leave PT3 installed when installing PT4 ?
And when installing PT4 do I skip installing PostgreSQL as PostgreSQL 8.3 is already there from my PT3 installation ?

Yes, you can leave PT3 installed - PT3 and PT4 can run side by side without any problems. If you have 8.3 installed for PT3 you don't need to reinstall PostgreSQL for PT4 either; the existing installation will be detected automatically.

Well it`s been converting PT3 database for 10 hours now

status:- Imported 534,959 of 1,481,806 hands and 0 of 15,290 tournament summaries...

The computer is old,the specs are:- windows xpsp3, ram2gb, AMD athlon 64 duel core 3800+ 80gbSATA harddrive 40% free space.
I knew it would take some time, but should it be quicker or is this about right, considering the machine ?
At this rate it`s going to take another 20+ hours :cry:

That machine converting that database is just unfortunately going to take a while. You're at the lower end of our supported specs and that's not a small database.

It got to about 8000,000 hands imported and then started throwing out loads of message, along the lines of:- Access violation (0) (Flags: 0; Address: 0x00403 ect. Then it crashed, the setup assistant just went to a white screen, had to close with taskmanager.
I ran it again today and although it got upto 798,417 imported hands much quicker(about 6 hours) but it still crashed in the same place.
ATM PT4 shows 601 tournys for pokerstars all from 2010 and none for this year or last year. None for partypoker.
What should I try now

After those errors when you restart PT4 does the crash reporter run?

In that case, please restart PT4 using the Logging Enabled link on your Start Menu and reproduce this problem. Then please send us the PokerTracker4.log file via a support ticket so that we can investigate this further for you. You can find this file by clicking File -> Open User Data Folder in the main PT4 window. The file we need is the text file called PokerTracker that's in the folder that appears.
