4bet range

Postby black winter day » Wed Apr 15, 2009 9:05 pm

Can you please make a custom stat of 4bet range the way HM does it?
Pfr/4bet %.

I know we had this discussion on 2+2 forums of how this could be not the most reliable stat, but i still want it (and i not as good with making custom stats myself, tried and it didn't work that well and in any case, i prefer it to be done by a professional, cause i could do it wrong and have inacurate stats).

Thanks.

Also, is there a stat of how often an opponent bets, when i don't cbet myself?
If not, can you make it as well?

Thanks.

I maintain it's still a terrible stat.

That said, it's pretty easy to build.

Click Configure --> Configure Statistics, click on the Holdem Hand Player Statistics section and go to the stats tab. Click New. Name the stat, put in the description you like, and the value expression is going to be:

(cnt_pfr / cnt_hands) / (cnt_p_4bet / cnt_p_4bet_opp)

On the format tab, give it a title and a width of about 55 should be fine.

Put /%.2f in the format expression and format summary expression, set whatever fields you'd like on categories and save the stat, then update your cache when you're finished.

The other stat is already a bit more complicated, it's called "Float Flop", and it's available in the big list of stats I put in the How To: Advanced HUD Configuration.

Thanks, kraada, i have made the 4bet range stat and will test it later, regarding my 2nd request, are you sure, that it's called a float?

A float is when someone bluff calls flop and then bets the turn when you check to him, i want to see, when he bets the flop, when i don't cbet, think it's not the same.

That's a Turn Float - you called a bet on the flop in position to bet on the turn and take it away. A River Float would be calling a flop cbet, turn cbet and betting on the river if checked to. So a Flop Float is when you call a PFR in position to bet if checked to.

I have made the 4bet stat, but i think he counts incorrectly.
Had a guy with 14 pfr and 4 4bet and he had a 4bet range of also 4, when it should be 0.56.

By the way, will that stat you showed how to make, tell the fraction numbers?
I want 3.2 and 1.7, not 3 or 1.

thanks

14 / 4 = 3.5, how should it possibly be .56?

If you go into the Hud Configuration, click on the stat and change the decimal number in the Properties tab below you can show decimal places.

Until you have several thousand hands on someone though I really don't think you can consider decimal values to be accurate by any stretch of the imagination.

From the Hm site
****************************
4bet range is calculated by: Total PFR divided by Total 4bet %. The thing to keep in mind is

that most 4bet situations will involve later positions and PFR and 4bet % will be higher from

late position than the overall PFR and 4bet would be. As 4bet by position isn’t currently being

compiled it would take a major overhaul to have it calculated the latter way but it will be

introduced in the future.
******************************

So, it's 14*4%=14*4/100=0.56, not 14/4=3

PFR, in PT3 is defined as a percentage: the count of hands you raised preflop divided by the number of hands you had multiplied by 100 to make it a percentage. If HM doesn't do this, that accounts for the discrepancy.

I was assuming PFR was defined the same:
100 * (cnt_pfr / cnt_hands )

And 4-bet was defined the same:
100 * (cnt_p_4bet / cnt_p_3bet_def_opp)

Then if you put one over the other the 100s cancel.

That said all you have to change in the original definition is to multiply the numerator by 100 and the numbers will line up.

The idea is that it's roughly the % of our total range. So we are 4betting 4% of the time out of our 14% PFR, so we are 4betting 4%*14%=0.56% of our total range. I'm sure this is how HEM does it.

14/4 means absolutely nothing so far as I can tell
