Stars tournament summaries bug + partial solution

Postby K1K0 » Sun May 25, 2008 4:51 am

Bug:

I played several tournaments on stars, but after requesting my summaries, copying them into a .txt file and manually importing them, the tournament results were not updated. Neither my results nor the results of any of the other players in the tournament.

Solution?:

The cause of this problem seems to be the aliases. On ftp, my user name is different than on stars, so I created an alias. After importing the stars summaries, my ftp nickname was listed in the tournament results section for my stars tournaments. This is what I did:

-I opened the .txt files and changed my stars name to my ftp name
-I re-imported

After doing this, the results were updated correctly for all players except for myself. At least now I only have to manually adjust my own results, instead of the results for all players. I hope this gets fixed in the next build, should be only a minor adjustment.

There is a bug with aliases, where hands imported to the secondary (i.e. hidden) player ID are not shown properly. If you un-alias they should still be there. I suspect the same thing is happening with the summaries - they were probably being applied properly but you couldn't see the results.
I would avoid changing the summaries to the other username as this may cause further complications.
Try un-aliasing and see if you can get it to work there..
