PT3 Beta 10 can't use PT3 Beta 9 database???

What is the story that when I upgraded to Beta 10 it told me that I had to start with a new database in order for it to work?? I tried running with my database from beta 9 and I had all kinds of problems. I have had all kinds of problems with the upgrades and fully dependent on PT3 now and can't go back another version, and "all" of my data from previous versions is now in Beta 9. If I can't use this database anymore I am now totally screwed and lose everything that I have. What do I do??

Ok I just found this in Beta 10 release notes:

If you need the hand histories from your existing PT3 database, in the Database -> Database Management window, there is a bulk export feature that will save all your hand histories to disk. To create a new database, in the same Database Management window, click New, fill out the information and create your database. Make it active and default, if desired and you should be good to go.

What is "bulk export"?? I don't see "bulk" anything...do you mean just the "export" button?

you can also go to the manual import tab and select the process hh folder and just re-import. Seemed to be the easiest way for me.

If I understand this correctly, "export" is looking to process a HH directory. That won't work for me...what about the years worth of data I have in PT3 from PT2 that I don't have HH for??

No, Export will write out the hand histories from PT3 to files which can then be imported into the new database.

As for the hands in PT2, if you already converted them to PT3 then they will be part of the export. If not, and you didn't store HH in PT2, then I believe in future updates of PT3 there will be a way of converting those hands to PT3, although you will not be able to get all the new stats as not enough data is stored in PT2 to make this possible.

Hands from PT2 are already converted, and I did the "export" function to a clean directory. I am in the middle of importing them back in. Looks like things are going okay.

Okay...I found a big problem with having to do things this way. All of my tournament summary stuff i.e. table type, player position, # of entrants, and player finish was lost. Not such a big deal for the first 200 in stars because I can request a tournament summary for these, but anything beyond that I would have to do one at a time. For Fulltilt it really sucks cause there isn't a whole lot I can do about it, not to mention all the time wasted keeping all those accurate records.

No, sadly Export doesn't yet deal with tournament summaries, though i think Josh said he's hoping the next version will do that.
