Sorting tourney opponents by 'total number of hands played'?

Hello forum,

Apologies for the real noobie question! Despite having had PT3 for years- and successfully managing to use a meaningful HUD most of this time- I have never til today attempted to dip into the database itself and extract any specific data.

What I'm after is- I'm sure- extremely simple, but I've spent the past 45 minutes playing around and haven't been able to figure it out yet, so thought I'd throw myself on your mercy!

Basically, I want to sort all the hundreds of Pokerstars tournament players that I have collected HHs on, by 'the total number of hands I have played against them'.

That is all!

Can someone please show me the light?

Thanks in advance,

Ben

You would need to do that in a custom report, using the Holdem Tournament Player Statistics section.
If you add the "Player" and "Hands" stats to the report, and untick the 'Filter on Active Player' option in the blue Filters link window you will be able to sort by number of hands by clicking the column header.

Thanks Whiterider, that was very helpful. I'd figured out about needing to run a report based on 'Player' and 'Hands' but had not twigged about Xing the 'Filter on Active Player' option!

One more quickie for you by way of follow-up, if you don't mind:

I can now get the information that I need, but when I click 'Export' PT3 generates a '.pt3rpt' file which I then find I cannot open!

Should I automatically be able to open files of this type with a PT3 subscription or is there something else I need to enable/subscribe to? Is it not possible to download my report in a standard Excel format?

Thanks again,

Ben

When you Export like that you are exporting the report structure, not the data, so that you (or someone else) can reimport that report at a later date and run it again.

To export the data from the report you need to Expand it first, by clicking the 4-arrow icon to the right of the report, and then you can Export from there to .csv for use in Excel or any other spreadsheet app.
