Differences between PT3 and Sharkscope

Postby roo_400 » Tue Aug 09, 2011 9:53 am

I recently restarted to play SNGs and on my PT3, it shows a profit of 4 038.68$ and on Sharkscope, a profit (which makes more sense) of 1 446$.

It shows the same amount of sngs (or so) 257 for PT3 and 258 for Sharkscope.

What's the reason for this?

Are these single table SNGs, or multi-table? It's easier to detect results from STTs - see the Tutorial: Tournament Auto Detection - although if you have PokerStars saving tournament summaries as well as hand histories then the results should be imported correctly.
Have a look down the list of tournaments on the Tournaments > Tournaments tab and see if there are any individual results which look wrong - you can sort the report by amount won (or any other column) by clicking on the column header. If you can find any tournaments which are wrong please attach the hand history and summary files to a Support ticket so that we can investigate.

No, that's the thing. They all look right. And yes those are STTs or 2 tables SNG (9 max and 6 max STT). I filtered them the same on my PT3 and Sharkscope and the results are different.

I see that on PT3, in 60$ 6 max SNGs, it gives 1 cent under the real payout on PT3 and on 100$ 6 max SNGs, it gives 1 cent too much than the real payout. But that shouldn't make the big difference that I have between PT3 and Sharkscope because I only have 257 SNGs tracked.

If the payouts match and you have the same number of tournaments then I'm not sure where the difference is coming from. Is it possible that one different tournament accounts for the difference in winnings?
Can you filter your Sharkscope results by date to try to narrow down where the difference is?

I found one tournament that differs, I'll start a ticket with the HH attached. I guess this is multiplied in my database. Gave me 2nd on PT3 and 3rd on Sharkscope (I finished 3rd).

Finally it was a different tournament so I didn't start a ticket since the HH was not helpful. But I found something weird on PT3, I can not find a SNG (2 table or 5 table SNG) where I finished over 9th. That might be the problem.

If I filter for yesterday for example, it only gives me 1 200$ 2 table SNG which I won but it doesn't take into account the 2 others I played where I finished 12th and 13rd. I am pretty sure that is the problem. Tell me how I can help.

It is not possible to auto detect finishing positions for tournaments with more than one table unless you make the final table because we don't have full information about every hand for every player.
If you import the tournament summaries that PokerStars write to your computer (or that you can request by email) then the results should be imported correctly. Please see the Tournaments FAQ for more information.
