What the seat number can tell you about your winnings

Postby eroock » Sat Jun 11, 2011 10:57 pm

I did some datamining on the info presented on the Sessions tab and found a strange pattern regarding my winnings per seat number. The pivot:

Looks like I should only work my hours from seat 5. Given the sample size and otherwise balanced figures we can probably rule out variance. I also checked by limit to see if this skewed the data, but seat 5 sticks out like a sore thumb on all limits. Any idea as to what might be causing this? And where the hack is seat 5 on FTP???

That is seat number, not position, right? It does seem an odd result - do you use Auto Center or not? If not I guess it's possible you read the action better when you're in the top-left seat or something. Do you play multiple tables at once?

>>That is seat number, not position, right?
Yepp, it's the seat stat from "holdem cash session"

>>do you use Auto Center or not?
Checked my FTP settings and yes, I do. What exactly does it mean "Enable this setting to always be seated at the center seat at the table"?
My default position is on the lower right of the table for 6max.

>>Do you play multiple tables at once?
Yes, but not heavily. Up to 6 tables, but mostly 3.

Would you mind having a look at your own winnings per seat for counter-checking?

Using auto center rules out any thought that it's a difference in the way that you view the table, since you're always looking at things from the same position, that's all.

I don't have enough hands from consistent table sizes and sites for my own play to make any analysis like this, and not much Full Tilt 6-max data.

In order to improve my winnings significantly, I need to know where seat 5 is.
How can I tell from looking at the table?

When you open a table, the seats on it are counted clockwise from the top center. So 1 is the first seat to the right of the chip stack in the top center, 2 is to their right, etc. If you have auto-center on, once you sit everyone will rotate but your seat number is the same.
