Housekeeping running hrs ++

Hi PT members/support

I have manual imported 1M hands, and checked nthe boxes "analyse, vacuum and update cache"
To be sure i did everything to make this process run some faster i have defrag my PC before importing/running housekeeping
The total housekeeping is running mucho hours now, and won't be ending fast. "PT is now "updating cache" for 12 hours, and just completed 15%...
Looks like it will be running 60 hrs.... Which can not be the case of course.

PC runs on Vista and have 100GIG free hd space, and have the latest patch of PT3

Please advise what to do..

How big is that database otherwise? For a database consisting in total of 1 million hands that sounds excessive - normally a million hands takes me 2.5-3 hours on my machine (which is far from top of the line at this point), just to give you a ballpark.

Have you added any custom stats recently?

My total db is +/- 3M hands. I just restarted a new database since i bought my new PC.
Last week i have manual imported 500K hands and did run the complete housekeeping as well (ran for 12 hrs). No new stats have been added since then.

Would it help when i disconnect from The internet and switch off all my virusscanners/firewalls ?
If not.....
Do you have any idea how to get this run faster...atm im running 17:09 Hrs and completed 25%..... I do not want to wait till 100% with this speed...

Internet connections won't slow anything down - what PT3 is doing is calculating every stat for every player and adding it to the cache so that it can be retrieved much, much faster. Unfortunately it's not a process you can pause or stop and when you import large chunks of hands you need to rebuilt it from scratch. If you import in smaller chunks, it'll actually update from where it is and not recalculate everything from scratch - the reason we don't do that for large imports is that it turns out to be faster to go from scratch when the imported amount is more than about 10% of the database. In the future though if you need to shut your computer down regularly what you could do is import in smaller chunks (say 25k hands or so apiece) and update cache, then repeat until you run out of hands. That way you can stop whenever the piece you're about to finish is done and start up again later.

Thanks for the info, i will import smaller chunks in the future..for now i'll just have to wait..bummer:)
