Adding rakeback

Postby Omitson » Thu May 26, 2011 6:30 pm

Let's say you know your rakeback % and want to add this to your database for a proper reflection of your winrate/winnings.

Is this possible?

You can add a statistic which will display your rakeback either on your graph or on a report. How is your rakeback calculated, using the weighted contributed method or the dealt method?

My rakeback is calculated using the weighted contributed method.

How do I go about adding this statistic? Do I need to create a custom stat?

Yes you'd need a custom statistic. To see a sample using weighted contributed see this thread - you could also download and import the statistic there and edit the name and value expression to use for yourself should you so desire.

Thank you, kraada, your help is appreciated.

Note that I am referring to iPoker's way of calculating rake. I'm not sure how they calculate their rake exactly. I've been told it's the weighted contributed method.

I have added the custom statistic and edited it's functions to properly reflect the rakeback I have acquired.
There is still a discrepancy between the rakeback PT3 says I have gained and the actual percentage I know I'm getting/should be getting.

By which I mean, the rake paid by me calculated by PT3 is either incorrect (too high) or the rakeback calculation is wrong (too low).

Does that make any sense? Is there something I am missing?
I read in the thread you linked that it calculates the RB over sessions. Could that have anything to do with it?

The rake you pay (which is what PT3 records and displays as Rake) is not necessarily the value that is being used for the rakeback calculation. Depending on how your rakeback is calculated we may or may not be able to calculate it for overall sessions - it's unlikely, though - you will probably need to do it in the Holdem Cash Player Statistics section, since that is where we have the data for each hand. There are iPoker points stats available for free download from the "Get More" section (uploaded by me), which could be useful if rakeback is related to points at all.

This really makes no sense to me at all. Care to explain?

What do you mean by this? The rake isn't calculated correctly per room/for iPoker and I need to adjust one or more statistics?

I don't think that's how it works. I haven't found any place stating how exactly the rake is calculated, though.

The rake that PT3 records and displays is the rake that you actually paid. You only actually pay rake in hands that you win.
The "rake" figure that is used for rakeback is usually a different value to this though, often based on hands which you put money into, but without exactly knowing how your specific rakeback deal is calculated I can't tell you why the numbers you're seeing don't match, as much as I'd like to.

The BetMost support VIP Manage says the following:
Please be advised that iPoker uses the contributed rake method. Which means the rake is split evenly amongst all players who put in at least the big blind into the pot. if you fold pre-flop with not 1BB invest then you will get no rake for the hand.

How would I go about implementing this in PT3? I added only the FT Rakeback.zip from this thread: http://www.pokertracker.com/forums/view ... 18&t=31145
Of course I changed my rakeback percentage and a few names from FT into iPoker but that's all I changed.

What else do I need to edit?
Or what custom statistics do I need to add/create?

With that calculation method, PT3 will not be able to give you completely accurate information for this statistic. The reason is that we don't store (in an easily accessible way for the stats) how many people have contributed at least some money preflop. We know how many get to a flop easily but if someone limps and folds preflop we're not going to be able to know they were involved.
