Stars CAP tables

Postby walter1953 » Fri Jan 28, 2011 10:01 am

Hi,

stars had added new CAP tables. Are there problems with Import and HUD with the actual version?

Which version do I need?
When will there a version be, which works?

The importing will work properly in the newest Beta version, but the HUD will not display currently on the tables with a ',' in their name. We are working to correct this issue and hope to have a new beta out shortly that will fix this problem.

Pokertracker should count stacks in CAP tables according to CAP. I played in some CAP tables yesterday. Bought in for 50 bb but since cap was 20bb my stack should count only as 20 bb. But when I looked at a stat that calculates all ins for small stacks, it showed no opportunities.

sum(if[ (holdem_hand_player_detail.amt_before / holdem_limit.amt_bb) <= 40, 1, 0])

In a cap table any amount over the cap is just as relevant to the game as the money thats not at the table.

I'll pass this suggestion on to the development team on your behalf.

hi,
is it possible that the ev-calculation doesnt work properly at the cap tables? it seems, that allins are only counted if an entire stack is pushed or called.
please fix this, so that all bets/calls count to the ev-calculation if they reach the cap. thx

for example the following hand, pt3 says net expected won -$10.00 for me and no allin-equity, which is simply not possible:

PokerStars Game #56874296326: Hold'em No Limit ($0.25/$0.50 - $10 Cap - USD) - 2011/01/31 16:36:24 CET [2011/01/31 10:36:24 ET]
Table 'Bootes XXI' 6-max Seat #4 is the button
Seat 1: jfryfgm ($24.75 in chips)
Seat 2: RedEyes173 ($19.70 in chips)
Seat 3: fallen696969 ($12.50 in chips)
Seat 4: kuocha ($32.05 in chips)
Seat 6: forgetaboute ($51.85 in chips)
forgetaboute: posts small blind $0.25
jfryfgm: posts big blind $0.50
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to RedEyes173 [Jd Jh]
RedEyes173: raises $1.50 to $2
fallen696969: raises $8 to $10 and has reached the $10 cap
kuocha: folds
forgetaboute: folds
jfryfgm: folds
RedEyes173: calls $8 and has reached the $10 cap
*** FLOP *** [Td 7s 3d]
*** TURN *** [Td 7s 3d] [Qc]
*** RIVER *** [Td 7s 3d Qc] [9h]
*** SHOW DOWN ***
RedEyes173: shows [Jd Jh] (a pair of Jacks)
fallen696969: shows [7c 7d] (three of a kind, Sevens)
fallen696969 collected $19.75 from pot
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $20.75 | Rake $1
Board [Td 7s 3d Qc 9h]
Seat 1: jfryfgm (big blind) folded before Flop
Seat 2: RedEyes173 showed [Jd Jh] and lost with a pair of Jacks
Seat 3: fallen696969 showed [7c 7d] and won ($19.75) with three of a kind, Sevens
Seat 4: kuocha (button) folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 6: forgetaboute (small blind) folded before Flop

This is a known issue; currently hands which reach the cap are not considered all-in for the purposes of our equity calculator. It is something we are looking to improve for a future release. If you would like automated notification when a release is available with this feature, create a support ticket with this request and we'll make sure you're notified appropriately.

I send a message to Pokerstars about the stacks in cap games, because this is really their fault. It makes no sense to show any amount above the cap. Its just a distraction to everyone even those that dont use poker software. Buying in for more then cap is just another auto rebuy option.

Anyone else that finds those double stacks distracting, please send feedback to Pokerstars.

I was wondering is the knowledge of the cap stored in somewhere so I could check for it? Somewhere like: limit_name, id_table or id_limit?

In PS hand history its: "PokerStars Game #57044202195: Hold'em No Limit ($0.50/$1.00 - $20 Cap - USD)"

and later is someone caps: "opi88: raises $19 to $20 and has reached the $20 cap"

The limit should be displayed with CAP in it in our latest beta release so that you can filter for it. I don't know if the hand history includes an indication of what the cap is off the top of my head.

Isnt the size of the cap indicated right there before the word CAP? "PokerStars Game #57044202195: Hold'em No Limit ($0.50/$1.00 - $20 Cap - USD)"

In what field name is the information whether there (and perhaps the size of it) is a cap located? The size is not important at the moment since I play only one sized CAP tables for now. Im trying to fix my preflop AI stats for the HUD. At the moment they dont recognize capping as all in as they should.
